At The Straz, we try to offer a variety of opportunities to fit the skills and interests of our volunteers. Currently, we are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

Ushers greet our guests, provide information, direct guests to their seats, and ensure their safety and comfort. Ushers are required to stand for extended periods of time and must be able to tolerate heights (i.e. work the highest level in Carol Morsani Hall).  Please note that usher candidates complete a comprehensive training program which includes a facility tour, on-site training, and hands-on shadowing/partnering with an experienced usher. Due to the training and show schedule, it may take up to two months for prospective ushers to complete the New Usher Training Program.

Donor Lounge Hosts

Lounge hosts welcome individuals and corporate donors to the Bravo Club prior to performances and during intermission.

Retail Volunteers

Retail volunteers assist in all aspects of retail operation. Customer service, store merchandising and cleaning, and pricing new merchandise are some of the duties for this corps of highly-visible volunteers. These volunteers also offer directions, answer questions, and provide information about the music, theater, education programs and other activities at the Center.

Will Call

Will Call volunteers assist in the Ticket Sales Office by locating and distributing tickets to guests who have pre-purchased tickets and wish to pick them up on site.

Assist on various projects or tasks on an “as needed” basis. Tasks include filing, data entry, creating or maintaining spreadsheets, mailings, photocopying and collating, etc.
