Soundgarden's Chris Cornell is a rock icon who thrives on contradictions. An innovator who resists genre labels, he was nonetheless the chief architect of the '90s grunge movement. Frequently ranked as one of the best voices in music history, he has successfully maintained his own unique identity over more than two decades as a multi-Grammy award winning musician and universally acclaimed singer, songwriter and lyricist.
In August 2010, Soundgarden made a historic return to the live stage as headliners for Chicago's Lollapalooza festival, and have released retrospective album Telephantasm and Live on I5, taken from recordings of their 1996 US tour. In Spring 2011 Cornell embarked on a sold-out solo acoustic US ‘Songbook’ tour, followed by an acclaimed North American summer tour with Soundgarden and more Songbook dates in New Zealand, Australia, South America and the US.
November 2011 saw the release of Songbook, his live acoustic album featuring songs recorded on the Spring tour in response to strong fan demand and including the never-before-released song "Cleaning My Gun". For the official website, visit chriscornell.com.
