Who's who in the Cast
JONATHAN VAN DYKE (Associate Director/Bernard) Most recently directed I Love a Piano for the Broward Stage Door Theatre and Holiday Inc. at the Straz Center. Other directorial credits include West Side Story, The Wiz, Grease and Seussical. He is a member of The Dramatists Guild and a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. AMY GARTON (Gloria) is so excited to be joining the cast and crew of Boeing Boeing! Originally from South Dakota, Garton was last seen at the Straz Center in the fabulous production of Holiday Inc. as Tinsel Garland. Some of her other favorite roles include Narrator (Joseph), Laurie (Oklahoma) and Sister Amnesia (Nunsense). She most recently created the role of Kippy Kaler in the new touring musical Totally Electric. She has been a principal vocalist and dancer in theme parks, on cruise ships, for up-and-coming recording artists and has recently been building her resume in commercial and film.
DIANA ROGERS (Berthe) is delighted to be back at the Jaeb Theater and to be a part of Boeing Boeing. Her credits include Broadway, national tours and regional theater including Mme. Thenardier in Les Misérables, Carlotta in Phantom (directed by Wm. Phillip Mckinley), Louise and Patsy in Always Patsy Cline, Iowa Housewife in Menopause The Musical®, Nurse in Romeo and Juliet, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Margaret in Richard III, Mother Superior in Nunsense, Opal in Smoke On The Mountain, Truvy in Steel Magnolias, Mona in Best Little Whorehouse, Claire Zachanassian in The Visit, Lilianne LaFleur in Nine, Ms. Tweed in Something’s Afoot, just to list but a few. Television credits include ABC Afterschool Specials and a CBS Christmas special. Tampa performances include Mag in Beauty Queen of Leenane, Nat in Rabbit Hole for Jobsite Theater and Louise in the Straz Center's production of Always Patsy Cline. Rogers recently wrote the script, lyrics and music for her first musical: ISS (In School Suspension) The Musical, which was produced at Ruth Eckerd Hall's Murray Theatre.
NICOLE ABISINIO (Gabriella) is a feature film producer, casting director and actress, but the theater is her home to which she will always return. Notable theater roles include Stella, Anne Frank and Juliet. Onscreen, Abisinio played opposite Bill Murray in Broken Flowers and stars in the indie comedy Prime of Your Life, currently available on DVD. She thanks God for his love, protection and peace.
AMY E. GRAY (Gretchen) was previously seen at the Straz Center in Jobsite’s The 39 Steps, The Taming of the Shrew, Pericles, Embedded and A Dream Play. Regional: Asolo Rep’s world premiere of A Tale of Two Cities, the musical, American Stage in the Park’s RENT, Gorilla Theatre’s Side Show, Stagework’s The Shape of Things and Kiss Me, Kate! at the Golden Apple. Favorite roles: Fiona in Brigadoon, Maria in The Sound of Music and Emma in Jekyll & Hyde. A native of Pittsburgh (go Steelers!), Gray graduated from the University of Kentucky (Go Big Blue!) with a B.A. in Theatre and Vocal Performance minor. All my love to Mikey and Tucker! amyegray.biz
JUSTIN LORE (Robert) was recently seen at the Straz Center in Forbidden Broadway. New York/Regional credits: Broadway’s Jersey Boys (Frankie Camp; Frankie Valli), Godspell (Jesus), Joseph (Joseph), Guys and Dolls (Nathan Detroit), Urinetown (Bobby) and Disney Cruise Line (Aladdin, Young Hercules, Simba). DANA KOVAR (Berthe U/S, Gretchen U/S) is relatively new to theater. Although she stepped onto the stage for the first time in her life only two years ago, she is thoroughly enjoying her new-found passion! Recent performances include multi-character fun in We’re Here, We’re Queer… It’s Complicated! with Jobsite, Bernadette in The Seven Deadly Plays: The Psalm of Bernadette or Sloth at The Studio@620, Mildred Pepper in Red Pepper and Justine in The Love List at Venue Theater. Kovar has appeared in several commercials for national, local and Chicago markets.
NATALIE LOPEZ (Gloria/Gabriella U/S) is a senior at University of Tampa majoring in Performing Arts. Recent credits include Book of Days (LouAnn), Falsettos (Cordelia) and Sweet Charity (Charity). Much love and thanks to Mom, Dad, Mike, Kevin and Mary.
