Prepare ye for the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew. Performed by students grades seven through 12, a small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life. Boasting a score with chart topping songs by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), a book by a visionary playwright (John-Michael Tebelak) and a feature film, Godspell is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.

***Sensory-friendly performance: OCT 28 • 2PM***
The Straz Center’s Patel Conservatory Theater is pleased to present a sensory-friendly, student performed, professionally produced production of Godspell. Often, because of the challenge of sitting quietly for long periods of time, loud noises and light changes, children with sensory processing disorders such as autism and Asperger’s aren’t able to enjoy theater. In this performance, audience members will enjoy the full production with adjustments made to the show’s lighting and sound effects. Audiences will also have the freedom to move, wander, verbalize and utilize break areas. This performance allows all patrons to enjoy theater without barriers.

This production of Godspell utilizes the volume created by a live onstage rock band, involves heightened emotional states as portrayed by the actors and depicts death. Please consider these elements when considering to purchase your sensory-friendly tickets.
