Opera Tampa Gala 2018 - SAVE THE DATE!

Join us for the “fệte on the set” – the Opera Tampa Gala. This year’s event will honor world-renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves.

Gala guests will enjoy cocktails and a silent auction on Morsani Hall stage on the set of Verdi’s Macbeth, and a sumptuous dinner on Ferguson Hall stage followed by a live auction, outstanding live entertainment and the presentation of the Anton Coppola Excellence in the Arts Award.

In honor of composer-conductor Anton Coppola, the Anton Coppola Excellence in the Arts Award is given to an artist in celebration of his or her contributions to opera. Recipients are chosen based on their extraordinary efforts to build and maintain the operatic art form.

This year’s award is presented to Denyce Graves who is recognized worldwide as one of today’s most exciting vocal stars. Heralded by USA Today as “an operatic superstar of the 21st century,” she is well-known to operatic audiences for her portrayal of the title roles in Carmen and Samson et Dalila. Throughout her career, Graves has performed in leading international opera houses around the world.
