2025 NGB Summer Intensive Brochure

Students take classes in spacious, beautiful studios with sprung floors at the Patel Conservatory- our main facility- and at nearby partner campuses, all conveniently located. Transportation to and from these campuses will be provided on a school bus that departs from and returns to the Patel Conservatory. All levels will have classes at the Patel Conservatory and nearby partner campuses. Students typically attend 6 hours of classes Monday through Friday and 2.5 hours on Saturday. A sample schedule and class descriptions are available at the bottom of the page.

Ballet: Students ages 11 through college will be placed in levels that best support their progress. All accepted students must have an intermediate to advanced background. Emphasis is placed on discipline, musicality, and technique. Girls are required to have prior experience on pointe.

Pointe/Men's Class: Pointe class focuses on building foot articulation, strength, and control, incorporating classical variations to expand students' repertoire and technical vocabulary. Men’s class emphasizes strength-building techniques essential for the demands of bravura dancing.

Partnering: Partnering class is available for advanced students. All boys participate in partnering, while girls must demonstrate advanced training, strength, flexibility, and substantial experience in pointe work.

Contemporary/Jazz: Contemporary and jazz classes contribute to a well-rounded dancer, fostering confidence, versatility, and expressive range.

Stretch/Conditioning: Specially trained teachers guide students in stretching techniques that lengthen muscles and tendons while building the strength essential for professional ballet.

The NGB Summer Intensive Showcase will be held on the Ferguson Hall's stage at the Straz Center.
